From time to time, Tara McPherson opens her personal archives to share something meaningful with collectors. This offering includes a curated selection of original Wonder Woman sketches — each hand-drawn and signed by Tara herself. Two of these rare works come from an early DC Comics project, and the others are the original character concepts and turnaround drawings used in the development of her acclaimed Wonder Woman designer toy, created in collaboration with Kidrobot and DC Comics.
Tara’s connection to Wonder Woman began long before her professional work with DC. Growing up in Los Angeles, her stepfather worked on the original Lynda Carter TV series in the props department — and as a little girl, Tara was sometimes allowed to play with the actual Bracelets of Submission and Lasso of Truth. Those moments left a lasting impression, and Wonder Woman quickly became the highest symbol of beauty, strength, and independence in Tara’s imagination.
Years later, she would bring that lifelong admiration full circle — reinterpreting the iconic heroine through her own distinct artistic lens.
