Lori Nelson
An exhibition of drawings on wood and limited edition prints.
Lori Nelson is a visionary artist whose work explores the intersection of innocence and transformation, capturing moments where her subjects are poised on the cusp of discovering their inner power. With a keen eye for storytelling, her diverse catalog of art weaves together elements of magical realism, sci-fi, and classical portraiture, often infused with a sense of quiet mystery and whimsy. Through her meticulous layering of oil paint on panel, Nelson creates richly textured, dreamlike narratives, where the moonlight bathes her figures and the world around them teeters between the familiar and the fantastical.
Nelson’s art reflects a fascination with the convergence of technology and the natural world, merging organic and mechanical elements in her dreamlike environments. Her characters often embody this fusion, navigating the shifting boundaries of identity and power. Influenced by early surrealism and the French Nabis painters, her work captures a sense of timelessness while exploring themes of transformation and the potential of the unknown.
Born in Colorado and now living in the Catskills of New York, Nelson’s artistic journey began at a young age, with formal training in Fine Arts from the University of Utah. She spent a year in Madrid, where the works of Spanish masters profoundly impacted her. Her art has been featured in galleries worldwide and in leading publications like Vice, Hi-Fructose, Juxtapoz, and Beautiful Bizarre, solidifying her place as a unique voice in contemporary art.

We're so excited to announce that we are teaming up with our friend at the record store Vinyl Remains to host a Pop Up Art Boutique here in our new home of Mt Lebanon, PA. For the next 3 months we’ll be hosting a series of guest artists, beginning with our opening event on February 15th. It's been years since we had our own store front gallery space in Brooklyn, and we feel grateful now to be able to celebrate some of our friends and peers, and share their creations with you.
